Quick and easy fish goulash
Ingredients for this recipe:
1 pound. from raw fish
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
½ cup milk
1 cup cooked peas (canned peas are fine)
Technique for this recipe:
Steam the fish with a little water.
Aim for the fish when it is done.
Mix the remaining ingredients together and pour the fish into the casserole dish on the stove.
Heat fish at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes.
Easy haddock and cheddar recipe
Ingredients for this recipe:
1 ½ pound haddock
1 egg
tomato
½ grated hard cheddar
1 cup of milk
margarine
Technique for this recipe:
Heat the haddock for 5 minutes and drain the liquid
Crush the haddock.
Place some of the haddock in the bottom of the broiler fermenter.
Place a layer of tomatoes and a layer of cheddar over the fish.
Repeat layers until you use up all the fish.
Eggs and milk are beaten and poured over the fish.
Season with pepper.
Put the margarine pieces on top of the fish.
Cook fish in medium broiler until eggs are cooked through.
I have to be honest with you; I'm not good at cooking fish. Very often I overcook fish and then it gets really dry and tasteless. For this reason, I like fish recipes that are heated in some sort of sauce because it doesn't dry out quickly.
Another very simple approach to cooking whitefish is to mix softened margarine with a packet of tomato soup and a small amount of boiling water. Pour this over your fish halves and just pop it in the microwave until it's cooked through. To check if the fish is cooked, simply cut a small piece in the middle and if the fish is not straight then it is done. Mine is much easier, my microwave has a "Fish" program, so I basically set it to "Fish" and the microwave turns itself off.
